In a few words, ‘quality, stylish and practical’ is probably the best way to describe the superb walking sticks produced by Classic Canes.
In 1982, Classic Canes was born and through utilising the natural habitat around their home in Somerset, the owners of this British brand set about designing, manufacturing and supplying traditional wooden walking sticks to retailers in their local area. However, through hard work and commitment, this family business has grown year upon year and has, over time, developed a fantastic range of staffs and sticks that it now supplies to many retailers both near and far!
Today, within the Classic Canes collection, there will be a stick or staff that will be suitable for just about any occasion. From chestnut hiking staffs which are great for reducing knee stress and offering better balance, to luxury black resin dog-head designs on quality hardwood, which are perfect for formal shooting events, Classic Canes has it all!
Interestingly, many celebrities have been seen using a Classic Cane stick. These include Natasha Baker MBE (2012 paralympics gold medal winner), Dame Vera Lynn and also Nigerian Dignitary. Similarly, Classic Canes walking sticks are often used when on Safari in South Africa or when climbing the French Alps or even when just walking through the busy streets of Hong Kong.
These quality wooden walking sticks are produced using many local materials including, for example, blackthorn, coppiced ash and natural ash. These are all harvested locally and then dried and shaped, on site, in Somerset!
Also, do rest assured that all products from Classic Canes are tested thoroughly to ensure their durability and usability and, in an effort to showcase the quality of these hiking sticks, the owner and Managing Director of Classic Canes recently undertook an 8 day, 125 km (78 mile) trail along the Rheinsteig, which, incidentally, has often been described as the most beautiful hiking trail within Germany!
To find out how she got on and how the walking sticks stood the test, please view the Classic Cane Eight Days on the Rheinsteig report here.
