Take a look at our video clip – click here! This is a great opportunity for you to try out the quality products we can supply you at very competitive prices, whilst you explore the country park at Erddig and visit the fascinating and famous “Cup and Saucer” that is situated there. In this beautiful setting, the River Clywedog makes its way through the meadow.

Where is the walk?

Erddig Country Park is situated in Wrexham, North Wales and an easy walk through the country park of approximately 4 miles, will take you past the cup and saucer. This is well worth a stop off visit where you can read an information plaque about its origin. The walk consists of gravel pathways and footpaths, so to ensure comfort and safety we recommend walking boots such as the Grisport Glencoe or Everest Boot. This walk will be immensely enjoyable by those of you who appreciate plants, birds and wildfowl or perhaps just have a love of the great outdoors!

About Erddig Country Park and the Cup and Saucer

During your walk you will be able to visit Erddig Hall one of the National Trust’s finest historic houses. The original house was commissioned by the High Sheriff of Denbighshire in 1687, and was subsequently designed by Thomas Webb. As you may imagine, there have been many alternations, updates and changes made over the years with the National Trust taking ownership in the 1970s.

The stately house itself has a walled garden and both the house and gardens can be visited by you and both are well worth a visit. Refreshments and gifts can be purchased there.

The Cup and Saucer waterfall is a feature you must visit! It was installed by a team led by landscaper William Eames in 1775. It is a feature made up of a large disc (i.e. the saucer) within which water flows in a circular motion before dropping down vertically (i.e. the cup) – well worth visiting! Historically, the water from the cup and saucer was used to supply water to the house but nowadays it is only used for land-watering purposes.

Dogs are welcomed at Erddig Country Park but it is advisable to keep them on their leads, so that the wildfowl will not be disturbed.
